Built in 1922, the Árpád Baths – a complex of Turkish bath-like superb buildings enhanced by recent renovations – now have 9 pools and offer medical and wellness services in the heart of the city. The Baths with a unique family atmosphere have become one of the most frequented places in the city. Visitors to the Baths can choose from various pools and sports facilities in a park dotted with small groves. Certified as a medicinal bath by the minister of health in 2006, the facility offers excellent leisure time activities to both those interested in sports and those being treated for their ailments. Rich in alkaline hydrocarbonates, the thermal waters of 36-38°C feeding the medicinal pools are especially effective in the treatment of rheumatic and locomotive disorders. The Jázmin Health Centre within the premises of the baths specialises in salt therapy and medicinal massage, and provides other medicinal services. Partially covered in the winter, the open-air medicinal pools and the swimming pool with a grandstand are available all the year round, and so are the sauna and the steam bath.  Further attractions include a giant slide and a pool for novice swimmers. Covering an area of1,200 m², a theme bath and spas offer a wide variety of facilities including jacuzzis, a whirlpool, designated sunbathing areas and effervescent baths.
